Folding chair covers – To make folding chair covers, starting with make 3 pieces of the pattern. Measure from the back of the seat, to the back and then to the floor. Add 2 inches. This is the only piece pattern. Measure the width and length of the seat, add 1 inch to each measurement. It is two piece patterns. Measure from the back leg to the back of the front, through and back to the left leg back, and add 1 inch. Measure from the seat to the floor and add 1, 5 inches. In other words, pattern piece three. Before cut out for a pattern, transfer these measurements with brown paper.
Cut the pattern pieces from the wrapping paper and the pin to the fabric. Cut the three pieces for as many folding chair covers you want. Sew a short end of the model piece one on the back of the piece two patterns. This is where the backrest of the chair meets the back of the seat. Use a 1/2 inch seam with the right side of the fabric towards the other. Sew the other three sides of two pattern pieces for the long side of the piece three patterns. This is where the rest of the seat meets the skirt of the lid. Use a 1/2 inch seam with the right side of the fabric together.
Sew the two sides of the pattern piece three of the sides of a pattern piece. These are the short sides of the skirt of the first piece that covers the back of the chair. Again, use a 1/2 inch seam with the right side of the fabric together. Now you should have one piece. Turn the right side folding chair covers and place on the chair. Measure the bottom of a hem and the pin. Sew the hem. Decorate the lid by making a bow to put on the back of the chair. Or tie a scarf colored window scarf around the back of the chair. Be creative and use monogrammed gold fabric paint on the backs of the covers.
