But there is a real way to hang your hammock for maximum comfort. Follow these simple guidelines to make sure your hammock is safe and ready for relaxation. If your yard is blessed with trees: You’re lucky you have trees in your yard that might be able to hold a hammock and you know that the trees will support the weight of one or two people. Trees must be about 14-17 meters apart to hang a hammock pad. Do not panic if your space is not exactly this distance. If you have a distance that is slightly less than 14 meters, use less chain to make up the difference. A distance greater than 17 meters requires that you use more chain to allow for the extra length. Do not panic, it’s possible to do the work with the trees you have in your garden.
